VFF12 ~ Remembering Our Heroes

The Valley Film Festival would like to take a moment to remember the men & women of the U.S. Armed Forces who are no longer with us. And, we'd also like to send a THANK YOU to those men & women currently serving.  You guys & gals rock!

As a thank you to the film community who has supported us for 12 amazing years, we're running a 24 hour (give or take) Memorial Day pay-what-you-can promotion.  Here's the catch: to honor heroes around the world, we want to hear who he/she is and why they're so special to you. Your hero doesn't necessarily need to be in the armed forces and, if they're still around, maybe now is a good time to tell them how you feel.

You may download the special promotional application here through 11:59pm PDT on 5/28/12. Submissions must be postmarked on/before June 1, 2012 and we ask that each Director/Producer submit only one project during this promotion.

Please use the comment field below to share your hero with The Valley Film Festival and either "Like" us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.

My dog, Earl. He's my best friend and unconditionally loves me. (Well, he unconditionally loves me as long as I keep feeding him...) Seriouslly, he's been a great companion during trying times.

What a great idea! My heros are the brave men and women who fought for my freedom. Happy Memorial Day.

P.S. - I'll be submitting a short film called Negative.

I have a lot of heroes in different ways, and I'm very thankful for all of them :)

My dad's dad, who I never met, didn't fight in WWII but he trained pilots in the war and didn't lose any of them. I've always thought that was pretty cool.

My parents are the most supportive, kind, guiding people I know.

My students inspire me.

*David, I have to agree. Dogs are AMAZING. Especially yellow labs :)

Philanthropists, journalists, artists, politicians, and everyday people who bring important information to the forefront of our communities are people with courage who should be listened to.

A lot to be thankful for :) Great post, VFF!
