A Fourth of July Filmmaker Freebie

Maybe it was the EXXXOTICA pass we won on Twitter last week that got us thinking about a contest, but we woke up this morning feeling generous and wanted to extend our warm & fuzzy feeling to you, the indie filmmaker.

Filmmakers, you may submit one short/feature/music video/ whatever you want for free by following these simple steps:

1.) You must follow us on Twitter and/or join our Facebook group.

2.) By 9:00pm (Pacific) on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, you must:
  • Via Twitter: Mention @ValleyFilmFest and the title of the film you're submitting in a tweet. Example: We just submitted Sudoku Gone Mad to @ValleyFilmFest
  • Via Facebook: Post the title of the film you're submitting in the "Discussions" area, in the thread "Fourth of July Freebie"
3.) On the submission form, provide us your Twitter handle or Facebook URL in the designated space. Additionally, in the "How did you hear about VFF" section, mention Twitter or Facebook.

4.) Submissions must be postmarked by Saturday, July 10th, 2010. There's no need to overnight or send by priority mail. That just costs you more money. We trust you.

5.) If you feel so inclined, make a donation! The Valley Film Festival is a non-profit project of Community Partners. We rely solely on our all-volunteer staff and individual donations to keep indie cinema alive in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley.
  • Donating by check: Make checks payable to: Community Partners for The Valley Film Festival.
  • Donating by credit card: On the Network for Good page, choose Valley Film Festival from the "Designate a Project" drop down menu.
6.) All other VFF rules & regulations apply. Please check out our website for the details.

Happy 4th! Play safe and we hope to see you in the NoHo Arts District in November 2010!
